Rita Handrich is a licensed psychologist in the State of Texas, and a consultant with Keene Trial Consulting since June, 2000. Prior to joining the firm, she served as an expert witness, communications and organizational consultant, and psychotherapist. Since joining the firm, she has conducted focus groups, participated in jury selection activities, and evaluated case strategies for both personal injury and commercial cases of every imaginable type.
In January 2008, Dr. Handrich also become Editor of the national trial skills publication of the American Society of Trial Consultants: The Jury Expert. Under her leadership, The Jury Expert (a free online journal) has gone from a good idea to a publication with over 15,000 article views per issue. Readers and contributors include attorneys, trial consultants, and academic researchers from all over the world. The new journal debuted online in May 2008 and circulation has grown from less than 500 (in our print newsletter) to more than 23,000 in the January 2010 issue.
Rita has lived in Austin since 1996 when she relocated from St. Louis, Missouri. Despite growing up in Michigan's snowy Upper Peninsula (and making 6 foot tall Easter Bunny snow creatures in April as a teenager), she does not miss icy and snowy winters even a small bit.
